SPOTLIGHT ON:
New Series of Interactive Cases:
The NLEC is about to launch yet another series of Interactive Case
Studies—the ninth so far! Robert H. Knopp, MD, and Richard
J. Flanigan, MD, will be the featured authors for this series, writing
about “Combination Lipid Therapy Issues in a 67-Year-Old Man
With Persistent Pattern B LDL and History of CABG” and “Combining
Antihyperlipidemics, Antihypertensives, and Antiarrhythmics in a
56-Year-Old Man,” respectively.
Website visitors will see that this series
boasts a more user-friendly format with enhanced media selections.
The goal is to make this a unique, truly life-like learning
experience!
You can access the new series of interactive
case studies, in mid October, along with all past series, by clicking
on the CME Activities navigation bar on the lipidhealth.org home
page.
Guidelines-at-a-Glance:
An exciting new section of the lipidhealth.org website features
17 sets of current guidelines to assist the busy clinician in the
practice of evidence-based cardiovascular risk-reduction strategies
and preventive cardiology. Feedback from practicing physicians indicated
a need for a comprehensive listing of pertinent guidelines in one
location. In this section, we’ve included the following guidelines:
ATP III; JNC 7; general, multiple risk-factor strategies on primary
prevention; individual risk factors (eg, blood pressure, tobacco);
special populations such as women and children; others highlighting
conditions such as diabetes and obesity; and many more. Click on
the Guidelines-at-a-Glance navigation bar on the home page.
Dynamic Slide Library:
Four slides on combination therapy are now featured in the new Dynamic
Slide Library. Now visitors can search for NLEC slides in nine categories,
plus build presentations from more than 300 downloadable slides.
